[debian-devel:09589] ITP: jvim

Hi. I wish to upload the 'j'vim package.

  === README.Debian ===
jvim for DEBIAN
----------------------

"jvim" is a modified "Vim" (Vi IMproved) with enhancement for
Japanese environment. Debian has already "nvi-m17n-canna" as
a VI editor with Japanese enhancement, but I like Vim's multiple
"undo" and other features, so I wish to have "jvim" package on
my Debian system.

Vim is an almost compatible version of the UNIX editor vi with
many useful new features:
multi level undo, command line history, filename completion,
 block operations, etc.

This Package is built using VIM-3.0 and the Japanese patch 1.5b
from K. Tsuchida <ken_t@xxxxxxxxxxxx>.

このパッケージは VIM-3.0 に土屋健一さん <ken_t@xxxxxxxxxxxx> の
日本語化パッチ 1.5b を当てたものです。

This package was maintained by Teruyuki Morimura <terubou@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>
as one of JP Packages for Debian system from Debian JP, and I take
the charge of the maintainer until he becomes the official maintainer
of Debian, as a part of MERGE Operation of JP Packages into Debian
from Debian JP.

Copyright:

--- [Vim] (quoted from 'vim' packages's copyright file) ---

Vim was written by Bram Moolenaar.
The following copying conditions are taken from the README file.

Copying:
Vim is Charityware. You can use and copy it as much as you like, but you are
encouraged to make a donation to orphans in Uganda. Please read the file
"/usr/doc/vim-rt/uganda.txt.gz" for details.

If you include Vim on a CD-ROM, I would like to receive a copy. Just so I
know which Vim distributions exists in the world (and to show off to my
friends :-)).

There are no restrictions on distributing an unmodified copy of Vim. Parts of
Vim may also be distributed, but this text must always be included. You are
allowed to include executables that you made from the unmodified Vim sources,
your own usage examples and Vim scripts.

If you distribute a modified version of Vim, you are encouraged to send the
maintainer a copy, including the source code. Or make it available to the
maintainer through ftp; let him know where It can be found. If the number of
changes is small (e.g., a modified Makefile) e-mailing the diffs will do.
When the maintainer asks for it (in any way) you must make your changes,
including source code, available to him.

The maintainer reserves the right to include any changes in the official
version of Vim. This is negotiable. You are not allowed to distribute a
modified version of Vim when you are not willing to make the source code
available to the maintainer.

The current maintainer is Bram Moolenaar <Bram@xxxxxxx>. If this changes, it
will be announced in appropriate places (most likely www.vim.org and
comp.editors). When it is completely impossible to contact the maintainer,
the obligation to send him modified source code is dropped.

It is not allowed to remove these restrictions from the distribution of the
Vim sources or parts of it.

If you are happy with Vim, please express that by reading the uganda.txt.gz

the license for distribution is GPL.

If you use the source files under EXFILE directory, Please
contact me (K.Tsuchida <ken_t@xxxxxxxxxxxx>), becase these
files are to easily made up,,,

# notice from translater: the files under EXFILE directory

12. About redistribution

In principle, the license for original 'vim' is applicable for
    my modification.

# from the translator: the original license is "Charityware", Read above.

I hope you just for my interest, to tell me with E-mail or so,
if you do the distribution of 'jvim'. I find now the very old
version of jvim is distributed, so I wish to know where those
    re-distribution comes from.

And, if you find the bugs or ill-working of the software,
of if you make the patch to enhance this 'jvim', Please tell me
about it. In that case, Plase check the current release of jvim
(which can be downloaded from my Web <http://www.st.rim.r.jp/~ken_t/>)
in advance, then contact me (ken_t@xxxxxxxxxxxx).
