<p><strong>APT Upgrade Problem.</strong> Ingo J&uuml;rgensmann <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/09/msg00062.html";>\
discovered</a> that when upgrading from <a href="$(HOME)/releases/sarge/">\
sarge</a> to <a href="$(HOME)/releases/etch/">etch</a>, <code>apt-get</code>
complains about untrusted source of packages because signatures couldn't be
verified.  Alexander Schmehl <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/09/msg00106.html";>\
added</a> that <a href="http://packages.debian.org/aptitude";>aptitude</a>
behaves the same and hence opened a release-critical <a
href="http://bugs.debian.org/386800";>bug report</a> asking for a dependency
against <a href="http://packages.debian.org/debian-archive-keyring";>\
debian-archive-keyring</a>.</p>

<p><strong>APT のアップグレードトラブル。</strong>
Ingo J&uuml;rgensmann さんは、<a href="$(HOME)/releases/sarge/">\
sarge</a> から <a href="$(HOME)/releases/etch/">etch</a> にアップグレード
する際に、署名が照合できないためにパッケージのソースが信用できないと、
<code>apt-get</code> がエラーを発するのを<a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/09/msg00062.html";>\
発見しました</a>。Alexander Schmehl さんは、
<a href="http://packages.debian.org/aptitude";>aptitude</a> でも同様の
エラーになるため、<a href="http://packages.debian.org/debian-archive-keyring";>\
debian-archive-keyring</a> への依存を求めるリリースクリティカルな<a
href="http://bugs.debian.org/386800";>バグ報告</a>を行なったと<a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-release/2006/09/msg00106.html";>\
付け加えました</a>。</p>

<p><strong>Debian Installer Stance on non-free Firmware.</strong> Frans Pop <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2006/09/msg00190.html";>stated</a>
that the installer team will not accept any structural changes to support
loading firmware in the installer at this late stage before the release.  In
the long-term he would also prefer a solution that wouldn't require adding the
entire non-free or contrib to the <code>sources.list</code> file.</p>

<p><strong>non-free なファームウェアに対する Debian インストーラの姿勢。</strong>
Frans Pop さんは、インストーラチームはリリース前の最終段階にある今、
インストーラがファームウェアのロードに対応するためのいかなる構造的な変更も
受け入れるつもりはない、と<a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-vote/2006/09/msg00190.html";>宣言しました</a>。
長期的には、<code>sources.list</code> ファイルに完全な non-free や contrib を
追加する必要のない解決策をも Pop さんは望んでいます。</p>

<p><strong>Using Wikis for Discussions?</strong> Russell Coker <a
href="http://etbe.blogspot.com/2006/09/mailing-list-culture.html";>suggested</a>
to use another mechanism instead of discussions lead via mail.  He believes
that endless discussions are more an illustration of the failings of mailing
list culture than of failings of Debian.  If each side had a Wiki page that
they could modify then in a small amount of time there would be a set of two
main consensus opinions which would each be explained clearly and summarised
well.</p>

<p><strong>議論に Wiki を使用?</strong>
Russell Coker さんは、メールで進められる議論の代わりに他の仕組みを使うことを<a
href="http://etbe.blogspot.com/2006/09/mailing-list-culture.html";>提案しました</a>。
終わりのない議論は、Debian の欠点というよりはメーリングリスト文化の欠点である、と
Coker さんは信じています。賛否双方が短時間で修正できる Wiki ページを持っていれば、
それぞれ明確に説明され巧く要約された 2 つの主張が存在できるでしょう。</p>

<p><strong>Debian Boot Dependency Graph.</strong> Petter Reinholdtsen <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/09/msg00136.html";>created</a>
a dependency graph of boot scripts now that a sufficiently large number of
init scripts use the LSB convention.  There's also a status <a
href="http://initscripts-ng.alioth.debian.org/soc2006-bootsystem/lsblist.html";>\
summary</a> for the packages used in a desktop installation.  Nathanael Nerode
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/09/msg00198.html";>added</a>
that the <a href="http://packages.debian.org/udev";>udev</a> dependency
information is not accurate since a lot of packages depend on udev running
first.</p>

<p><strong>Debian の起動依存度グラフ。</strong>
Petter Reinholdtsen さんは、起動スクリプトの依存度グラフを<a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/09/msg00136.html";>作成し</a>、
現在相当数の init スクリプトが LSB 規格を採用していることが示されています。
また、デスクトップタスクのインストールで使われるパッケージの<a
href="http://initscripts-ng.alioth.debian.org/soc2006-bootsystem/lsblist.html";>\
一覧</a>についての状況もあります。Nathanael Nerode さんは、多くのパッケージが
最初に実行される udev に依存するため、
<a href="http://packages.debian.org/udev";>udev</a> の依存情報は不正確だと
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/09/msg00198.html";>付け加えました</a>。</p>
