手元のマシンでは /etc/init.d/network に書いてます。

    NM> /sbin/depmod -a

    NM> /sbin/modprobe ip_masq_irc.o

depmod -a は /etc/init.d/modules で実行されます。また /etc/modules に
必要なモジュールを書いておくと自動的にロードされます。

Debian の rc ファイルは SVR4 スタイルですね。
