ご指導有難うございました。ところが、インストールして最初の
ブートのときに、GNOMEが立ち上がりましたが、Debianは全てラン
レベル２で起動するそうなので、GNOMEを立ち上げたいのですが、
方法が分かりません。手持ちのLINUXの入門書に

＄ start x

とあるのでやってみたのですが、start comand not found
という反応でした。xじゃなくて、Gnomeかなとも思いやってみた
のですが、反応は同じでした。

それから、起動時に、
failed(code4).
*Anautomatic file system check(fsck)of the root fikesystem failed
A manual fsck must be performed,then the system restarted.
Thefsck should be performed in maintenance mode with the
root filesystem mounted in read only mode.
* The root filesystem mounted is currently mounted in read-only mode.
A maintenance shell will now bestarted 
After paforming system maintenance press CONTROL-D
to terminate the maintenance shell and restart the system.
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Contolole-D to continue):
Login incorrect.
Give root password for maintenance
(or type Control-D to continue):

ここで、Contorol-Dを押すと再起動してしまいます。
root password を入力するとrootプロンプトになっ
てしまいます。何かメンテナンスを求めているよう
なのですがインストールは失敗したのでしょうか？
電源ＯＮ→ＧＲＵＢ起動→起動画面が上記のところ
に来るとストップ。ＧＲＵＢにはＶｉｎｅも入って
ませんでした。後は、Ｃ−Ｄを押すか、rootパスワ
ードを入力するしか、無いので、何か、不具合があ
るのかと考えております。


それから、インストール時に失敗してしまい、パッケージは
GNOMEしか、インストールしていません。Emacs,GIMP,openoffice.org
等、インストールしたいのですが、apt-get update → apt-get upgrade
→apt-get install hoge この辺りはVineと書式が違うのですね。元々
aptはDebianのコマンドだそうで、その辺を教えていただけると助かり
ます。
