This is the recent news [5/25/1999 - 5/31/1999] from Debian JP
Project.

* Starts Project Leader Election
The term of the Debian JP steering team is expired at the end of this
March.  We have been postponed the election until the release of the
Slink-JP.  

* JP merge program
We are now getting priority of the JP packages. The feedback from
Debian JP developers about "what JP packages do you use" have been
gathering.  Some packages are to be uploaded to Debian U.S.
