番です。一カ月以上たっていますが


大部分で customize が「独自化」となっていますが
「カスタマイズ」のほうが良いのではないでしょうか。

原文の表記(用語)に違和感があります。
"a link with ... pointing to the selected file" とすべきだと思いますが。

原文直訳:
どのプログラムが起動されるかは
    仮想パッケージ名の名前を持つファイル /etc/alternatives/news-reader
  から
    選択されたファイル、例えば /usr/bin/trn
  を指すリンク
により決定される。
