Debian GNU/Linux 2.2 として配布されているバージョンの X-Chat には、
URL を解釈するプログラムに不正利用される弱点があります。この
プログラムは、ユーザが X-Chat の URL をクリックすると、そのURL 先を
みるために Netscape を起動するというものです。しかし、このプログラムは
URL のシェルメタキャラクタをチェックしていないため、URL に仕掛けをして
xchat をだまし、任意のコマンドを実行させることができます。

以上の問題は、バージョン 1.4.3-0.1 で修正されました。できるだけ
はやく xchat パッケージをアップグレードすることをお勧めします。

更新情報: 最初の advisory に記述されている PowerPC 用のパッケージは、

このパッケージは、すでに再コンパイル、アップロードされました。
