[debian-users:26934] [Q] postfix configuration for local mail

おひさしぶりです。かよこです。

現在、自宅にDebianGNU/Linux でサーバーを構築中です。
今までは、家族へのメールもプロバイダのSMTP/APOPサーバーを
経由して行っていたのですが、家族が増えたこともあり、家族
へのメール配信を自宅のサーバーだけで行おうとpostfixの導入
を行うことにしました。
# 今までeximすら動作させず、mew+imだけで済ませていたのです

で、「改定版 DebianGNU/Linux徹底入門」に従い、postfixを導入
したのですが、ローカル配信時は相手のアドレスをkayoko@localhostや
root@localhostにしないと無事送信できません。
# 本当は、kayokoとかrootだけで送信したいのです。
 
また、メールのFrom行は From : root@xxxxxxxxxxx(root) のように
表記されており、返信を試みても送信元に到達しないのです。
# ちなみにjudau というのは、DebianGNU/Linuxサーバーのホスト名です

/etc/postfix/main.cf を覗いて、mydomainを空白にすると、
send-mail:fatal:bad string length (0<1):mydomain と怒られてしまいます。

もちろん root@judauやkayoko@judauにしても送信できません。それはDNSで
judauなんていうドメイン名がないからに違いありませんが。

過去ログをpostfix ローカル配信で検索したのですが、目的とする情報を
得ることができませんでした。
初歩的な設定ミスだとは思うのですが、アドバイスを頂けたら幸いです。

--- judau の成立ち ---
(1) 接続プロバイダは、CATVで常時接続環境です。DHCP/BOOTPでIPアドレスが動的に
　割り振られています。
(2) potato導入時に(1)のDHCP/BOOTP設定でしたので、ドメイン名は設定していません
(3) 自ホストでDNSサーバーの立ち上げは行っていません。
(4) (2) の関係でしょうがdnsdomainnameコマンドの実行結果は空白となります。
