/etc/alsa/modutiles/1.0 を 0.5で書き換えて、
件の個所をコメントアウトして
update-modulesを実行。
/etc/init.d/alsa restartをしたところ以下のようなエラーが。

alsactl not found.
Shutting down ALSA sound driver (version 0.9.0beta7): done.
Starting ALSA sound driver (version 0.9.0beta7): ens1371.
alsactl not found, mixer settings will not be restored.

man alsactlしたところ
/etc/asound.confが設定ファイルだとの事ですが、
そんなファイルはありませんでした。
これが原因かどうかもわからないですが。
あいかわらず amixerを実行すると
The ALSA sound driver was not detected in this system.
となってしまいます。

ふぅ、困った。
