Paul Starzetz さんにより、現行の Linux カーネル (2.4.x と 2.6.x) で
mremap システムコールの境界チェックに欠陥があり、ローカルの攻撃者から
root 特権が奪えることが発見されました。カーネル 2.2 にはこの問題はあり
ません。
安定版 (stable) ディストリビューション (woody) では、この問題は mips お
よび mipsel 向け kernel-images のバージョン 2.4.17-0.020226.2.woody3 で
各々修正されています。
不安定版 (unstable) ディストリビューション (sid) では、この問題は新規に
アップロードされるパッケージで近いうちに修正予定です。
直ぐに kernel パッケージをアップグレードすることを勧めます。この問題は
上流では 2.4.24 で修正されています。
アップグレード手順
------------------
wget url
でファイルを取得できます。
dpkg -i file.deb
で参照されたファイルをインストールできます。
を用いて、apt-get パッケージマネージャに以下記載の sources.list を与えて
次のコマンドを使ってください。
apt-get update
これは内部データベースを更新します。
apt-get upgrade
これで修正されたパッケージをインストールします。
本メールのフッタ記載の設定を自ホストの設定に加えることにより、自動更新を
行うこともできます。
