[debian-users:40578] sylpheed doesn't start.
橋本です。
sarge(一部sid)という環境なのですが、最近sylpheedを起動しようとする
と一瞬ウィンドウが開いてすぐ落ちてしまうという現象が起こっています。
--debug オプションをつけて立ち上げると、以下のようなメッセージが出ます。

env LANG=C sylpheed と、LANGをCにすると立ち上がります。
sylpheedのバージョンは0.9.10-1です。また、sylpheedはインストール
はしてあるものの常用していないので普段は立ち上げることがなく、
最近たまたま起動してみたら起動不能になっていたという状況なので、
いつから起動不能になったのかははっきりしません。
Googleで検索してみると、

というのが見つかり、私の場合と症状が似ていますが、1年も前のケース
です。fontconfigが怪しいのかも知れませんが、解決策がさっぱり分かり
ません。Debian BTSにもそれらしいバグ報告は見当たりません。
sylpheed-claws(0.9.10claws-1)も試してみましたが、LANG=ja_JP.eucJP
ではやはり起動しません。
