[debian-users:51961] INIT:Version2.85 booting停止する

はじめまして、大久保と申します。

rootでログインが行えなくなり、single-modeでの再起動を試みた
頃、サーバーboot時に停止します。syslogも取れない状態なので
停止直前の内容を書き写しています。

INIT:Version2.85 booting　を表示したあと、３０分待っても起動しま
せん。
これは、どの様な状況なのでしょうか？
また改善のための手順など教えていただきたく宜しくお願いします。

なおサーバーはHP　DL380 G3　x86　HDD SmartArray（RAID5構築）　
OSバージョンはDebian 4.0
