谷村＠Debian浦島です。承前[debian-users:52901 et al.]

で installer CD から boot し、Debian 4.0 Etch のインストールに
成功しました。

但し、tasksel での selection を全てオフにする必要があります。
# slect すると
# 「ソフトウェアの選択とインストール」の tasksel のあと
# 5% の進捗で hung up します。

出来上がった Debian Etch は最小 (563MB) です。

途中、configure lib6 のインストール中 (27%の進捗) に
長文の message あり、要約すると、
「NSS を使っているサービスをリスタートする必要がある、
これをしないと authentication などをこれ以上進められない。
GNU libc library の upgrade に必要なサービスの restartは
openbsd-inet.d cron です」
の message が出て判断を迫られましたが、内容は私の理解を
超えていますので、文面から推して続けました。

その他の messages は default で OK でした。

このあと
aptitude install xorg -> (725MB になる)
aptitude install gnome -> (2.9G になった!)
で現在は startx で gnome の desktop (English) が見えています。

この後は gnome の 日本語環境の追加が楽し(苦し?)みです。^o^;
