BTS #561569 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=561569) に
よく似たエラーが報告されているようです。
BTS #561569 は、kernel-package 12.032 でフィックスされているようです。
kernel-package のバージョンを最新 (この返信を書いている時点では 12.033)
のものにあげてみると良いかもしれません。
それから、kernel-package 関連のバグ情報 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?package=kernel-package)
をみると、BTS #571716 (/usr/bin/make-kpkg: make-kpkg fails building .deb for linux 2.6.33)
とかも報告されているので、kernel-package のバグ報告とフィックスの状況を
確認しつつ、適宜 kernel-package のバージョンをあげて試してみると
いいと思います。
