標題の 4 ファイルを訳してみました。
内容の把握間違いや訳として不適切な表現などがありましたら
ご指摘ください。
4 ファイル目 (40testingscripts.wml) に関する翻訳時のメモです。
: testing scripts
これは、翻訳中の devel/testing.wml で説明されているものです。
不安定版 (unstable) のパッケージを取り入れてテスト版 (testing) を
更新するものなので、
「テスト版 (testing) 更新用スクリプト」と訳しています。
「テスト用スクリプト」・「テスト版 (testing) スクリプト」と訳すと
異なるイメージになってしまう可能性があるので……。
: valid candidate
これも翻訳中の devel/testing.wml で説明されているものです。
不安定版 (unstable) のパッケージのうちある一定の基準を満たしたもので、
いちおう「有効候補 (valid candidate)」と訳していますが、
こちらについてはうまい訳語が見つかりません。
もっとも、開発に関わってくる専門用語 (?) なので仕方がないのかもしれません。

Debian システムでは、
ifup と ifdown のコマンドがネットワークのセットアップに責任を負っています。
現在、これらのコマンドは起動時に /etc/network/ifstate ファイルにいくらか情報を書き込みます。
というのはその時点ではまだ /var がマウントされていないからです。
これらの情報をメモリに記憶しておくこと (それを実現する方法はたくさんあります。) で、
よりきちんと FHS の標準に準拠し、ハードディスクを使わない (diskless) システムのサポートも改善されます。

/usr/sbin/update-inetd は、親切な API をもった頑強なものに書き直される必要があります。
これは、netbase と netkit-inetd を切り離し、
異なる inetd パッケージへ容易に移行できるようにするための必須条件です。

処理過程をよりわかりやすくするため、そして彼らを手伝うため、
FTP マスタツールは文書化される必要があります。
これらのツールのパッケージ化も必須でしょう。
というのは、それによって、
テストや理解を目的として誰でもその Debian アーカイブを使えるようになるからです。

メンテナは、
どのパッケージが自分のパッケージを不安定版 (unstable) に縛りつけているのかについて通知を受けた方がよいでしょう。
