これ、念のために potato の 3.3.6 で確認したら 4.0.1c が
遅くなっていただけみたいですね。

上記はすべて IBM TP235 (MMX-Pentium266,Mem160M) 上の
 Debian potato (Linux 2.2.17 + glibc 2.1.3) で実行しています。

4.0.1x は XFree86 のソースから直接 build したもので、
3.3.6 は Debian パッケージを実行しています。

ちなみに 3.9Ab を東芝 Portege660CDT (Pentium150,Mem80M) 上で
実行した時の記録 (Linux 2.0.33, 1998/1 という日付から見てこの
当時はまだ Slackware + JE だったと思うので libc5 なはず) では

    11596 lineStones
   105409 fillStones
    30197 blitStones
  4011733 arcStones
   964688 textStones
   160326 complexStones
    38466 xStones

でした。

なお、これらの数値はすべて depth16 でのものです。
