potato の gs 5.10 だと /usr/lib/ghostscript/5.10/gs_res.ps に

systemparams

  dup /GenericResourcePathSep (/) readonly .forceput
pop

とかあったので /Resource/Font/ が出ても不思議はありませんでしたが
sid の gs-aladdin 6.50-5.1 だと /usr/share/ghostscript/6.50/gs_res.ps には

pssystemparams begin
  /FontResourceDir (/usr/share/ghostscript/fonts/) readonly .forcedef
  /GenericResourceDir (/usr/share/ghostscript/) readonly .forcedef
  /GenericResourcePathSep (/) readonly .forcedef
end

となっているので /Resource/Font が出るならこれじゃないですね。
 /usr/local/share/ghostscript/fonts 以下にフォントのファイルが
あるらしいところを見ると、gs を /usr/local/ 以下にオリジナルの
 tar ball から自前でインストールされたんじゃないかという気が。

あと、gs での日本語表示は gs-cjk-resource-6.5 だけでは不足では ?
これって、TrueType font を使って CID フォントのフリをするための
リソースですよね。

たぶん、少なくとも cmap-adobe-japan1 (non-free) は必要じゃないか
という気がします。
あと ttf-xtt-wadalab-gothic と ttf-xtt-watanabe-mincho も
自前で他のフォントを使う設定をしていなければ必要じゃないかな。

このへん、何かメタパッケージとか用意して日本語表示のできる gs を
簡単にインストールできるようにしたほうが親切ではという気はしますね。
そういう依存関係だけのパッケージとして Debian official な gs-ja を
提供できるといいかも。現状だと non-free に依存するから contrib に
なりますが。

 (Adobe CMap が DFSG 互換であると確認できれば main にできますけど)
