[debian-users:21633] PPP の LCP: timeout 以下

はじめまして Otani です。
PPP 接続ができなくて困っています。
(FAQ や ML の過去ログを読みました)

以下ログです。

Apr  1 01:54:47  pppd[543]: Serial connection established.
Apr  1 01:54:48  pppd[543]: Using interface ppp0
Apr  1 01:54:48  pppd[543]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/ttyS2
Apr  1 01:55:18  pppd[543]: LCP: timeout sending Config-Requests
Apr  1 01:55:18  pppd[543]: Connection terminated.
Apr  1 01:55:18  pppd[543]: Receive serial link is not 8-bit clean:
Apr  1 01:55:18  pppd[543]: Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0
Apr  1 01:55:56  pppd[543]: Hangup (SIGHUP)
Apr  1 01:55:57  pppd[543]: Exit.

これの

ここらへんが原因じゃないかと思うんですが(たぶん)、
ピックアップしたログの意味がわかりません。

pppd のコールは pon からで、
/etc/chatscripts/provider , /etc/ppp.options_out
を使っています。

LCP: timeout とでているので、chatscript の TIMEOUT(違うような)
を設定してみましたが、だめでした。ぜひ、ご教授お願いいたします。
