このplatexって、teTeXのポーランド語LaTeXのことかもしれません。


で、この問題ですが、kpsewhichの結果が正しくなるように、texmf.cnfを
修正すれば直りそうです。rootで、

	/usr/sbin/platexconfig init

してください。そのほか、pTeX関連で、

	/usr/sbin/ptexconfig init		(ptex用)
	/usr/sbin/ptexjtexconfig addpath	(ptex-jtex用)

もあります。
