うちのマシンでは

/etc/apache/httpd.conf:# to the server the response is coming from) it will use ServerName and
/etc/apache/httpd.conf:#ServerName host.some_domain.com
/etc/apache/httpd.conf.0:# ServerName allows you to set a host name which is sent back to clients for
/etc/apache/httpd.conf.0:#ServerName new.host.name
/etc/apache/httpd.conf.0:# to the server the response is coming from) it will use ServerName and
/etc/apache/httpd.conf.0:#ServerName host.some_domain.com

ServerName は特に指定していませんが、問題なく動作しています。
これは森茂さんがいう所の

に絡む問題だと思います。

と書かれているように、恐らく自分のマシンのホスト名を設定されていると
すれば、

Linkname: Linux NET-3-HOWTO, Linux Networking.: ネットワークに関する一
          般的な設定に関する情報
     URL: http://ktarn.www.linux.or.jp/JF/JFdocs/NET-3-HOWTO-5.html

にあるように、 /etc/host.conf の内容を確認する必要があるでしょう。
