[debian-users:34288] GTK2 関連ソフトウェアが動きません

久保田です。Debian Sid を使っています。

galeon (1.2.5-1)、gedit (2.0.2-2.1) などが起動しません。また、
gnome-terminal (2.0.1-2) 起動時に、いっぱい警告が表示されます。

galeon を起動させようとすると、

というエラーメッセージが出て終了します (適宜改行を入れています)。また、
gedit の場合には、

というエラーメッセージが出て segfault します。gnome-terminal でも、
「gconfd がありません: 許可がありません」メッセージが出ています。


これらの症状から、gconf というものがうまく働いていないっぽいと
判断し、gconf について調べてみました。

gconfd、gconfd2 はインストールしてあります。

が、ps ax | grep gconf とやっても、grep gconf 自身が出るのみで、
それらしき daemon が走っている風でもありません。/etc/inetd.conf
や /etc/services にも gconf という文字列は見つかりません。

どうすれば、galeon、gedit 等を走らせることができるでしょうか。
