vgettyに対してmodemが自分の情報等を伝達しているのでしょうか。
class2のfax-modem、電話番号（この場合"123456"）等。
勉強不足で全くの憶測ですが。

分かりやすく「ERROR」と出ていますので、
このへんをさらに追求した方が良さそうですね。
色々調べてみたいと思います。

この様なlogを発見しました。
これを見る限り、「waiting...」の後には
ringを監視しているようです。
ここまで到達すれば、vgettyが電話を着信するのでは？と思うのですが。。。
