[debian-users:45842] debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Gnome

　はじめまして、宮内といいます。

  故あって、Debian3.0r1をftpインストールしています。

最初の内には、以下が何度も出力され、
debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Gnome
debconf: (Unable to load Gnome -- is libgnome2-perl installed?)
debconf: falling back to frontend: Dialog

その内にこうなって、
debconf: unable to initialize frontend: Gnome
debconf: (DISPLAY problem?)
debconf: falling back to frontend: Dialog

結局、Ｘが上がらないシステムがインストールされてしまいます。
何が問題なのでしょうか？
/etc/debconf.confに、Gnomeに関する設定パラメータが欠落していると
するのならば、何を書けばいいのでしょうか？
