[debian-users:47606] Re: Can't input Japanese on Etch
Dear 長南洋一,
I'm not sure the specific date but I think it is no longer necessary xfs
or xfstt to draw Japanese truetype fonts.
From this time, I deleted 'FontPath "unix/:7100" ' entry. It is also no
problem not to use /var/lib/defoma directory, because I made font.dir
directly in /usr/share/fonts/truetype/* directories. I think, however,
your suggestion was better and I changed the settings to use
/var/lib/defoma directory. Since this modification, The error message in
Xorg.0.log has disappeared but the symptom still exists.
Thus, this fonts problem is not directory affected to the current
problem so that this font related thread may close. The discussion must
focus the locale issue.
Thanks,
Tomoo Nomura
