[debian-users:49793] How can I use old PCMCIA_cs with Kernel 2.6.23 ?

LAN interface のない laptop に PCMCIA (corega CG-LAPCCTXD) 経由で
Debian 4.0 Etch をインストールしています。

適切な助言を頂き taskel [*] laptop のインストールには成功しましたが、
その後の環境整備に GCC, Gnome, tree などのインストールを試みたところ、
これらのインストールには成功しましたが、稼動していた PCMCIA が
動かなくなりました。

(細部にわたり的確な原因追求には力不足なので) 何度も試行錯誤を
重ねた結果、tasksel 経由で [*] desktop のインストール中に以下のような
メッセージが出ることに気がつきました。

Debian Etch + net acceessablity via old PCMCIA + Gnome の環境
を実現の具体的な資料、もしくは、この環境を実現なさった方の助言
をいただけたら幸甚です。
