[debian-users:56403] qemu-arm-staticについて

Ubuntuのホストマシン上に、rootstockでarm用のルートファイルシステムを作成
し、qemu-arm-staticを使い
chrootして、設定を行っています。
この状態で、postfixをインストールしようとすると、以下のようなエラーに
なってしまいます。

Can not write log, openpty() failed (/dev/pts not mounted?)
Setting up postfix (2.9.3-2~12.04.2) ...

Postfix configuration was not changed. If you need to make changes, edit
/etc/postfix/main.cf (and others) as needed. To view Postfix configuration
values, see postconf(1).

After modifying main.cf, be sure to run '/etc/init.d/postfix reload'.

Running newaliases

/dev/ptsの中は空の状態なのでlogが書けないのは、仕方ないかと思うんです
が、ptsが空でも他のアプリのインストールでは
問題は起こっていません。

この状態のルートファイルシステムを、armのターゲットマシンにコピーし、
minicomやsshから再度　apt-get install postfix　すると
問題なく、設定されます。
上記の、エラーの原因、対処方などご存知ないでしょうか？
