<h2>mips と mipsel とは?</h2>
#E <p>The Mips port is actually two ports, "debian-mips" and "debian-mipsel".
#E They differ at the <a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=endian";>
#E endianness</a> of the binaries. The Mips CPUs are able to run at
#E both endiannesses, but since that's normally not changeable in software, we
#E need to have both architectures. SGI machines (SGI Indy and Indigo2) are running
#E <a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=big-endian";>big-endian</a>
#E which is debian-mips. Digital Decstations are running
#E <a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=little-endian";>little-endian</a>,
#E debian-mipsel.</p>
<p>Mips 移植版は事実上 "debian-mips" と "debian-mipsel" の
2 種類の移植があります。
これらの違いはバイナリの
<a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=endian";>エンディアン</a>
です。Mips CPU は両方のエンディアンで動作させられますが、
ソフトウェアの中では普通は変更できませんので、
両方のアーキテクチャがある必要があります。
SGI の機械 (SGI Indy と Indigo2) は
<a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=big-endian";>ビッグエンディアン</a>
で動作しますので debian-mips です。
Digital Decstations は
<a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=little-endian";>リトルエンディアン</a>
で動作しますので debian-mipsel です。</p>

#E <li>R4600 CPUs currently seem to have an unresolved bug appearing as segfaulting perl.
#E It seems that <code>export LD_BIND_NOW=1</code> solves the problem.</li>
#E <li>O2 R10000 is NOT supported</li>
#E <li>O2 R5000 only runs uncached - very EXPERIMENTAL</li>
#E <li>Indigo 2 R6000/R8000/R10000 are unsupported</li>
#E <li>Indigo 2 framebuffer are unsupported</li>
#E <li>Challenge S extra Ethernet/SCSI is unsupported (GIO64 Devices)</li>
#E <li>EISA slots in the Indigo 2 are unsupported</li>
#E <li>Early crash on Indigo2 if Framebuffer/Newport is enabled</li>
<li>"sleep" がスリープから戻ってこないことがあります。
strace した結果 22 年スリープしてしまうそうです...
librt/fpu 関連の問題のようです。</li>
<li>R4600 CPU には現在解決されていないバグがあるようで、
perl を segfault させてしまいます。
<code>export LD_BIND_NOW=1</code> とすることで解決できます。</li>
<li>O2 R10000 はサポートされていません。</li>
<li>O2 R5000 はキャッシュ無しでしか動作しません
- 非常に実験的なものです。</li>
