ご存知だと思いますが、「認証」は'authentication'の訳としても使用されてい
ます。

certificationにはテストが伴うようです。テストした結果、ある事(人、物)が
正しいことを示すために資格証(証明書、ロゴ)などを交付するということのよう
です。

私見ですが、最近の傾向として「認証」は'authentication'の意味で使用される
のが一般的になりつつあると思います。したがって、セキュリティの文脈で
'certification'を「認証」とするのは良いとしても、softwareやhardwareの
certificationで「認証」とするのは避けたほうがいいような気がしています。

1. 全体(疑問)
私は、法律や契約にうといので、'guarantee'、'promise'、'agreement'、
'condition'、'rectify'、'assure'という用語はどのくらいの強さ(ニュアンス)
で訳せば良いのかわかりません。(今後、自分の課題として調べたいと思います)
conditionがtrueやfalseであるという言い方は、プログラミング言語の解説では
一般的ですが、契約条項では一般的な言い方なのでしょうか;-) (これは蛇足)

2. 細かいこと
"Open Hardware"というロゴがつくのだから、初めに1回だけ、
「オープンハードウェア(Open Hardware)」と断わったほうが親切だと思いま
す。
「ドライバ間インターフェース」? 「ドライバインターフェース」?
Users who buy eguipment with the "Open Hardware" logo
are assured that ... の"assured"を訳して下さい。
文脈からconditionがfalseなのを"rectify"するのだと思いますが、
rectify: to correct something that is wrong
なので、「修正する」、「訂正する」、「正す」がいいと思います。
「調整する」は道具や船の進路などに使用する(Webster's Dict.)ようです。
"a normal part of device driver operation"
は、私なら「デバイスドライバの標準動作の一部」としたいのですが。
normalは「通常の」、「正常な」、「標準の」 ... 。
operationは「演算」、「操作」、「処理」、「動作」 ... 。
discloseは「開示する」とされていますが、「公開する」、「公表する」はどうでし
ょうか。
「開示する」でオブジェクトのメソッドのexposeを連想してしまうのは私だけ
....
だろうな?
