gs 6.51-2 can't show vertical writing of Japanese OCF correctly
due to the cshow bug problem which is already fixed in AFPL gs 7.0.
The original patch to fix that problem was written by
Hideyuki Suzuki <hideyuki@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>, and he give me
the approval to include his patch into our GPLed gs package
(and more, he said that this patch will be included into
GPLed gs 6.52 or later).
I got his original patch from
<www.sat.t.u-tokyo.ac.jp/~hideyuki/Ghostscript/gxchar.c.diff>,
and this patch can be applied safely to src/gxchar.c in the source
tree of gs_6.51-2.
So please apply this patch to make Japanese OCF fonts (such as
provided by gsfonts-wadalab-* packages) work well with gs_6.51
