slink cd に入っているドキュメント README.1ST の訳です。
久しぶりに訳しましたので、最近の作法に疎いです。チェックをお願いします。

README for Debian 2.1 CD installation.
======================================
To boot the installation system from CD, you will need to insert
either CD#1 or CD#2 in your CD-ROM drive and reboot.
インストールシステムを CD から起動させるためには、1枚目か2枚目の CD を
CD-ROM に入れてマシンを再起動させてください。
CD#1 contains a normal kernel that should work for most people and
contains many drivers.
1枚目の CD には、たいていの環境で動く通常のカーネルと多数のドライバが
入っています。
CD#2 is a smaller system based on the "tecra" kernel - this is smaller
because it has fewer drivers compiled in to avoid a known problem with
large kernels on laptops, especially the Toshiba Tecra series.
2枚目の CD からは tecra カーネルをベースにした比較的小さなシステムが起動
します。ラップトップ、特に東芝の Tecra シリーズで大きなカーネルが起す問
題を避けるため、カーネルに含まれるドライバを少なくしたので、サイズが小さ
くなっています。
If your system will not boot from CD, there are other options:
システムが CD から起動しないようでしたら、他の選択肢もいくつかあります。
1.Boot a DOS system with CD drivers, then run boot.bat from the
\install direcory on the first CD.
1.CD ドライバ組み込んだ DOS システムから起動し、1枚目の CD の \install
ディレクトリにある boot.bat を実行する。
2.Make boot floppies from the images on the first CD, in the directory
\dists\stable\main\disks-i386\current. The program rawrite2.exe in
that directory will write the floppy images under DOS. e.g.
2. 1 枚目の CD に含まれるディスクイメージから起動フロッピーディスクを作
成します。イメージファイルは
\dists\stable-jp\main\disks-i386\current にあります。このディレクト
リにある rawrite2.exe プログラムを使うと DOS 上でフロッピーディスク
イメージを書き込めます。
d: (CD ドライブへ移動)
cd \dists\stable-jp\main\disks-i386\current
rawrite2 -f resc1440.bin -d a:
(a:ドライブが1.44 MBフロッピードライブと仮定)
