Discussion on the ML at Debian.or.jp
* [debian-devel:10282] Re: I18N Document (Re: Tcl-ja/Tk-ja ...)
+ Tomohiro KUBOTA continues to summarize the I18N programming basic. This causes
rather big discussion on debian-devel@debian.or.jp and the developing document
in English (partly, and the other in Japanese) is available from the following.
http://surfchem0.riken.go.jp/~kubota/linuxwork/i18ndoc.html
In addition, Mitsuru Oka introduced some I18N related English references. This
is listed on the below.
o http://www.microimages.com/~dwilliss/programming/noframes/i18n.html
o http://i44www.info.uni-karlsruhe.de/~drepper/conf96/paper.html
o http://www.mozilla.org/docs/refList/i18n/
o http://cns-web.bu.edu/pub/djohnson/web_files/i18n/i18n.html
* [debian-devel:10360] msgmerge i18n (Re: [gnome] Re: [japo:00021] Re: textutils)
+ Mitsuru Oka posted the achievement of I18N of msgmerge in the gettext utility.
The patch can be available from the following URL. This patch modifies the
treatment of the turn up of the sentence consist of multibyte characters.
http://www.aist-nara.ac.jp/~mitsu-o/junkbox/message.c.diff-2
* [debian-devel:10363] Re: Translatin of DFSG
+ Japanese translation of the DFSG which is committed by our members (http://
www.debian.org/social_contract.ja.html) is not perfect one, and it requires
some refinement. Draft is posted for revised edition of this translated text.
* [debian-devel:10365] Can I upload a document ?
+ KONDOU Mitihiko summarized the FAQ for FM-TOWNS user. FM-TOWNS is yet another
Intel architecture in Japan.
* [jp-policy: 00056] Re: Subject of Debian JP Project
+ Taketoshi Sano slowly starts the discussion about Social Contract of Debian JP.
He wishes to let the Debian JP be the supporter of the Debian in regional or
linguistic (naturally, at Japanese) field. He thinks the work in JP Project
should be focused more on I18N & L10N issues of the Debian since other works
could be done in Debian itself more efficiently after the applicants who are
piled-up at the new maintainer queue are registered.
Katsura Yoshio posted his opinion against this. He thinks the Debian JP should
be the supporter of the whole of the Free Software Community rather than only
the Debian, and he wrote that the Debian and Debian JP has similar standing
position in this viewpoint. (Is the Debian JP a counterpart of the Debian ?)
This discussion is continued...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JP Merge Operation (continued)
* [debian-devel:10344] Re: [JP Merge:man-db] about Bug#38107 on Debian
+ Taketoshi Sano talked about man-db merge and it is under processing by friendly
Fabrizio Polacco. The fine implementation using table would be employed. Thanks
a lot for your understanding for our needs.
* [debian-devel:10366] blackbox jp support patch
+ The JP patch of blackbox seems to be merged. Thanks a lot to Brent-san. He
ported patch to newer upstream version and this patch will be merged to
upstream after the function confirmation. Noriaki Matoi will produce the po
files for that patch.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ITP to Debian JP
This section reports the JP member's ITP to Debian JP. Non-Debian developer of Debian
JP member has no way to ITP to Debian.
* [debian-devel:10334] ITP: dvipsk-ja
* [debian-devel:10316] ITP: mendex These two are ITPed by Masayuki Hatta. mendex is
makeindex compatible LaTeX index generation tool. It is expanded for Japanese
treatment.

Debian JP References
* Debian JP Project Home
* Debian JP Administration Log
Fumitoshi UKAI, the Debian JP Project Leader, has been taking time to summary the
JP administration log (in Japanese) and good summary of the discussion on the
debian.org's ML (in English).
