そこでの listitem は敬体のようです．

i386 向けの同等の文書である

の listitem は常体で訳されているな……．ふーむ．常体と敬体のどっちで
もかまわないということかな．

まず，ここの & は &amp; と実体参照しなくてもいいのでしょうか．xml を
全然知らないのですが，html とは違って & はそのままでかまわない？

そして訳．ううむ，ここはむつかしいですね．
原文では a や the の位置から a serial console と a keyboard and
video card と読めますが，日本語には(残念ながら)不定冠詞や定冠詞がな
いので，"アとイとウ" と訳出したときに，どこが切れ目の "と" なのかが
分かりにくい．それとも，この文書の読者対象は現時点で ia64 を使うよう
なスキルの高い人と仮定してしまえば，シリアルコンソール and キーボー
ド+ビデオカードという対応だとは分かるかしら．

以下は訳案です．
元訳との違いは，以下の4つ
・第1文の文頭にある Some の雰囲気を訳文の文末に追加
・原文の both A(シリアルコンソール) and B(キーボードとビデオカード) 
を A or B のように訳す
・A B のあいだを読点で分割
・& の扱いが不明なので "と" とする

IA64 プラットフォームでは、
システムコンソールで EFI ファームウェアの設定をするのに、
シリアルコンソール、もしくはキーボードとビデオカードが
使えるものがあります。
EFI コンソールは、キーボードとビデオ、もしくはシリアルポートから、
表示や入力の受付を行えます。
