[debian-users:11404] demand dialing for pppd-2.3.1

慎＠未来ネットです。

以前から、demand dialingをやってみたいと思って、dialdなどを入れていまし
たが、どうしても出来なかったのでpppdを使ってみようと思って/usr/doc/ppp以
下のドキュメントを見て、kernelにpppd-2.3.1のパッケージに含まれている、ヘッ
ダなどをインストールしました。

/etc/ppp/peer/providerの中に、

demand idle 60 holdoff 20

の一言を付け加えましたのと、/etc/ppp/no_ppp_on_bootをppp_on_bootに変えてみ
ました。

その後、demandにしてみようとして、/etc/init.d/pppをroot権限でstartさせて
みると、

root@ling# pon
/usr/sbin/pppd: remote IP address required for demand-dialling

となってしまいます。そこで、pppdのmanページを見てみると、ROUTINGの項の最
後の所に、

       When the demand option is used, the interface IP addresses
       have already been set at the point when IPCP comes up.  If
       pppd has not been able to  negotiate  the  same  addresses
       that  it used to configure the interface (for example when
       the peer is an ISP that uses dynamic  IP  address  assign-
       ment),  pppd  has  to change the interface IP addresses to
       the negotiated addresses.  This may disrupt existing  con-
       nections,  and  the use of demand dialling with peers that
       do dynamic IP address assignment is not recommended.

となっていて、dynamic IPを得るにはroutingを使えというようなことが書いて
あるような気がするのですが、実際にはどうやって使ったらいいのでしょうか？
また、pppdの最新バージョンではdemandのdynamic IPを得ることは出来るのでしょ
うか？
