今日起動したら、なぜか直ってました・・・。
今 NC4.7 なのですが、
communicator-smotif-47 -install で起動したら
背景が一時だけ変わってすぐに元に戻りましたが、
NC 自体の色が反転したような感じになってしまいました。
xdpyinfo |grep depth は
    depth 1, bits_per_pixel 1, scanline_pad 32
    depth 8, bits_per_pixel 8, scanline_pad 32
  depths (2):    1, 8
  depth of root window:    8 planes
    depth:    8 planes
    depth:    8 planes
    depth:    8 planes
    depth:    8 planes
    depth:    8 planes
    depth:    8 planes
です。

すいません。そうです。(^^;

cp /etc/X11/WindowMaker/appearance.menu ~/GNUstep/Library/WindowMaker/
とした上で、ホームディレクトリにある appearance.menu の中の、
2箇所(だったと思う)の setstyle の後ろに、
setstyle --no-fonts
のように付け加えるということなのでしょうか？
