kernel-2.2.15のコンフィグに

CONFIG_CPU_IS_SLOW:

If you suspect that your CPU is not fast enough to handle the
full bandwidth of your network connection, try saying Y here. If
unsure, say N.
 
というのがありますが、Pentium166や200は遅いと思うべきなのでしょうか？
というのは、woody(P166)をnfsサーバーにして、slink(WinChip2-200)から
nfsマウントして読み書きすると、slinkのRXにエラーが続出して使えないのです。
どちらも100M-Full(tulip)です。他のslink(P133,10Base-T)から
マウントして読み書きする分には問題ありません。
 
100M-Fullで通信するにはどのクラスのCPUが必要なんでしょうか？
