更新中にデーモンが停止すること。
Adrian Bridgett さんは自分には Debian の欠点と思えることを[1]報告しました。
更新前にデーモンは停止され、それからパッケージが更新されて、最後に
デーモンが再スタートされます。はやいマシン上ではこの停止期間にはふつう
気がつかないでしょうが、おそいマシン上では問題となっているデーモンが
動いていない時間がある程度あります。Adam Heath さんはデーモンは更新前に
停止しなければならない、なぜなら start-stop-daemon はディスク上の
バイナリを調べるから、と[2]説明しました。

いまだに Potato にあるパッケージ。
Otto Wyss さんはいまだに Debian アーカイブの potato ディレクトリにある
パッケージのリストを[3]公表しました。Woody のリリース前に、それらが
リリースにふさわしいかだれかが調べて、もしふさわしくなければ削除を
要求する必要があるでしょう。もはや必要とされていないパッケージさえ

Anthony Towns さんはとうとう暗号ソフトウェアを Debian の main アーカイブに
アップロードすることが許されるようになったと[4]発表しました。以前 (2000 年
1 月?) 米国政府は暗号ソフトウェアは実際にすでに米国外でも入手可能で、
制限を緩和してもそれほど問題にならないと決心しました。Debian 開発者および
弁護士からなる特別なグループがこれに対する[5]法的助言を準備しました。

安定版 (stable) の改訂版をもうひとつ準備する。
もうひとつのドンキホーテ的な試みとして、Joey さんは安定版 (stable) Debian
バージョン (2.2 という別名がついています) の[6]更新作業をしています。
パッケージリストには現在 24 個ものセキュリティ上の更新および 7 個の重要な
更新が含まれています。この改訂版を 4 月はじめにリリースする計画です。

IceWM の新メンテナが必要です。
Jerome Marant さんは IceWM パッケージには活動している上流開発者がもはや
存在しないと私たちに[8]知らせてきました。こんなにすてきなウィンドウ
マネージャにとって残念なことです。IceWM の Debian メンテナは上流開発者には
なりたくないので、このソフトウェアを生かしつづけるには人が新たに必要です。

Debian プロジェクト書記は 2002 年 Debian プロジェクトリーダ選挙の 1 回目の

届かなければなりません。Manoj Srivastava さんは投票機構を書きなおしました。

新ブートフロッピー 3.0.21。
ブートフロッピーチームは Woody ブートフロッピーの新セットを[13]リリース
しました。Robert Bihlmeyer さんはそのあとで[14]成功報告を提出しました。
このブートフロッピーセットはまだ alpha、arm、s390 および sparc では
利用できません。移植者がこれらのアーキテクチャのめんどうをみる必要が
