 平松です。
まことにお恥ずかしい限りなのですが
WOODYを再インストールしています。
http://www.overtruth.net/desktop/grub.html
を参考にLILOをGRUBに置き換えているのですが、
MBRにはSBMを入れていますので（８番目のパーテーションにイ
ンストールしたいと）
前回は引っかからなかった、
# /sbin/grub
grub> root (hd0,7)
 Filesystem type is ext2fs ,partation type 0x83
grub> setup (hd0,7)
 Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... yes
 Checking if "/boot/grub/stage2" exists... yes
 Checking if "/boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5" exists... yes
 Running "embed /boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5 (hd0,7)"...
failed (this is not fatal)
 Running "embed /boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5 (hd0,7)"...
failed (this is not fatal)
 Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 d (hd0,7)
/boot/grub/stage2 p /boot/grub/me
nu.lst "... succeeded
Done.
というメッセージが出て、再起動しても８番目のパーテーショ
ンはGRUBが起動し
grub> root (hd0,7)
Filesystem type is ext2fs ,partation type 0x83
grub> kernel /vmlinuz ro root=/dev/hda8
 [Linux-bzImage,setup=0x1400,size=0x1330eb]
grub> boot
で毎回システムを起動しなければなりません。
（作業をするごとに記録をしておかなければならないと痛感し
ているところです。)
