The first call for translations was sent 3 days ago to debian-i18n. This
second mail is mainly intended to reach translators for languages that
have not yet responded and to provide an update for others.

If you did not read the first call for translations [1], please do so now.

The latest Release update [2] sets the deadline for the Release Notes,
both the original and translations, on *May 27*; that is one week from
now. This will be very tough as there are still some important
improvements that can be made.
We will try to have the English version ready by the end of next weekend,
to allow as much time as possible to finalize translations, BUT small
changes may happen after that, especially if it looks like the release
will be postponed.
If you would like to have a translation ready on the date Sarge is
released, you should start _now_.

Translations that are ready before the deadline _may_ be included on the
Sarge installation CDs if space is available. No guarantees, and
preference will be given to major languages.
All translations, if fully translated and up-to-date, will be published on
the Debian website [3], even if the translation is completed after the
deadline.

Your translation will be added to the website as soon as you submit an
up-to-date translation. However, it may be removed again on the deadline
if you fail to keep up with changes made in the English text over the
weekend.
There is no need to commit or send an update for every change that is
made, but you should check for changes regularly.

Please try to get others to proofread your translation.
If you spot typos or have any comments on the English texts, please mail
them to the debian-doc mail list.

NOTE
Further updates will be sent _only_ to the debian-i18n mail list (with CC
to debian-doc and debian-release), so please subscribe to that list (low
volume) or check the archives [4].

Good luck,
Frans Pop

P.S. Not all encodings may be supported by the build system for the
release notes. If you would like to start a new translation but have
doubts if your language is supported, please contact the debian-doc mail
list first.
