「既知の問題」とのことですが、ぐぐってもその問題に関する文書が見つ
かりません。
それと、 uml 用の 2.6 系のコンパイル済みカーネルイメージ或は .config
は、何処にあるのでしょうか。

2.6.9 以前はカーネルソースに patch が必要だが、それ以降はカーネルソース
ツリーに UML サポートがマージされたので patch は不要である、と読み取り
ました。
そうであるならば、そのための .config のサンプルが欲しいのですが、上記
文書にはその在処、或は指定すべきオプションの列挙等に関する情報がどこに
も見当たりません。
UML って、使っている人は少ないのでしょうか?
皆 Xen に移行しちゃってるんでしょうか?
