<h1>debian-mips と debian-mipsel</h1>
<h2>mips と mipsel とは?</h2>
<p>Mips 移植版は事実上 "debian-mips" と "debian-mipsel" の
2 種類の移植があります。
これらの違いはバイナリの<a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=endian";>
エンディアン</a>です。Mips CPU は両方のエンディアンで動作させられますが、
ソフトウェアの中では普通は変更できませんので、
両方のアーキテクチャがある必要があります。
SGI の機械 (SGI Indy と Indigo2) は
<a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=big-endian";>ビッグエンディアン</a>
で動作しますので debian-mips です。
Digital Decstations は
<a href="http://www.foldoc.org/foldoc/foldoc.cgi?query=little-endian";>リトルエンディアン</a>
で動作しますので debian-mipsel です。</p>
<h2>既知の問題</h2>
<ul>
<li>現在の glibcs は動作している sysmips 実装を取得できる
カーネルでしか動きません。
現在は実装をとれるカーネルは存在しません。
とにかくバイナリが発行した sysmips/_test_and_set で
不正な命令例外を発行させないようにやっとしました。</li>
<li>mips と mipsel にはブートフロッピがありません。</li>
<li>現在の cvs 版だと ext2 は壊れています。 - bitops.h が壊れているにちがいない。</li>
