<h2>現在の状況</h2>

<p>Debian AMD64 移植版の非公式な安定版リリースは、2005 年 6 月 8 日に
移植チームによってリリースされました。</p>

<p>現在、AMD 64 移植版のテスト版および不安定版リリースは、公式の Debian
アーカイブに含まれるのを待っています。今のところ Debian-amd64 アーカイブは、
<a href="http://amd64.debian.net/";>amd64.debian.net</a>
上で公開されています。

同移植版は、<i>AMD64</i> 拡張付きの AMD 64 ビット CPU および <i>EM64T</i>
拡張付きの全 Intel CPU 用カーネルと、共通の 64 ビットユーザ空間で構成されています。</p>

<p>非公式な移植版の安定版リリースは、パッチが適用されていない Sarge のソースを
元にしており、Debian セキュリティチームによる完全なセキュリティサポートがあります。

<h2>完全に 64 ビットのユーザランド</h2>

<p>AMD64 移植版は完全に 64 ビット化されており、ユーザは i386 と比べて同アーキテクチャ

<h2>i386 用の最小限の AMD64 動作対応</h2>

<p>公式の i386 ディストリビューションにも、実際には最小限の AMD64 対応が含まれて
おり、64 ビットカーネル、64 ビットバイナリを作成可能な gcc-3.4、サードパーティ製の
amd64 バイナリをネイティブの共有ライブラリで動作させるための amd64-libs パッケージ
