現在、最終版を作成中ですが、
確認しながら気付いたところだけ一応ここにコメントします。

means を名詞「手段」ととると文でなくなってしまい、
あえて文として訳すといまいさんの訳のようになると思います。
が、ここではおそらく alternative が名詞、mean が動詞「〜を意味する・〜を指す」
だと思います。
"The" alternative ということで、「彼が提案した代替案」ではないでしょうか。

Debian の dependency は「依存関係」とするほうが一般に分かりやすい気がします。

documentation の訳をタイトルと中身とで統一したほうがいいように思います。
# 「document」および「documentation」の訳、結構バラバラになりがちですよね。
とりあえず「文書」として最終版を作成中です。
この号のサマリのもそれに合わせます。
