よく分からなかったので，
"http://www.novateceditora.com.br/livros/descobrindolinux"; から
sumario857522090X.pdf をダウンロードして，目次を確認してみました。
(ポルトガル語の翻訳を探したら http://translate.livedoor.com/portuguese/
というページがあったので，そこで英語にしてみました)
おそらく以下のようになっていると思います。

PART1 - Basic concepts
PART2 - Management of GNU/Linux
PART3 - Administration of the system
PART4 - Advanced operations

doc/books.wml の原文とそれに対する訳を

 This book is divided into four parts: basic concepts, management of
 GNU/Linux, advanced system administration and operation. (Each chapter
 explains in depth the features of the operating system.)

 本書は、基本概念、GNU/Linux の管理、
 高度なシステム管理や運用といった四つの部分に分けられ、
(それぞれの章でオペレーティングシステムの機能を徹底的に説明しています。)

のようにしていましたが，書籍の目次にならうなら，たとえば

 本書は、基本概念、GNU/Linux の管理、
 システムの管理、高度な運用といった四つの部分に分けられ、

のようになるのでは，という気がしてきました。
(advanced system administration and operation ではなくて
administration of the system and advanced operations?)

PART1 の Basic concepts は Chapter 1 が History of GNU/Linux と
なっているので，"GNU/Linux の基本概念" としても内容は合っていそう
なのですが，原文は元々が目次の羅列のようなので，"基本概念" のまま
でいかがでしょうか。

もし問題がないようなら上記の部分は
「本書は、基本概念、GNU/Linux の管理、
システムの管理、高度な運用といった四つの部分に分けられ、〜」
に変更させてください。
