ちょっと、といいながら一杯コメントつけていただいてありがたいです。

これは訳者の優柔不断さの表れか？ 「します」と言い切ったほうがいいです

あ、抜けてますね。他意はないです。

「社会契約」だし、結果の話をしてもしょうがないとこでしたね。「フリーソ
フトウェアが広く配布され使われるように、私達は作り得る限りの最高のシス
テムを作ります」くらいですか。

genetic engineering は「遺伝子工学」だから「遺伝子の研究」でいいんじゃ
ないですかね。「遺伝の研究」より「遺伝子の研究」のほうが競争激しそうだ
し、通りはよさそうです。
