Hmm, curious. Would you give us your groff 1.15-3.ja.1 to check
whether it really handle Japanese roff files, please?

I've not got any responses from jless authors. On end of November,
I'd heard he intended to work merging jless work to less until
end of December. But I can't see any progress. I ask him current status.

AFAIK, `more' and `lv' work to read Japanese man pages well
if we run it on kterm or other terminal emulator that handles
Japanese properly.

I don't know about must. Which package contains must?

less can't handle Japanese characters, so we can't live with jgroff/less
convination. Latest version seems to have UTF-8 supports, but it
will need UTF-8 terminal emulator, but we don't have such terminal
emulator. old groff, even latest groff, can't handle Japanese characters,
we can't use it for Japanese manpages.

For the potato release time-line, we can accept its tentative
solution, that is, japanese people use jgroff/jless convination
and others use groff/less convination. I strongly hope to solve
this situation in woody, but for potato, we don't have enough time.

I'd like to help you as much as possible.

I'm afraid this will...
