 文字通りに解釈して結構です。

 Yes

 XFree86 3.3.6 には i810 のドライバが含まれています。ただし、i810 ドラ
イバは、kernel 側のサポートドライバを要求するため、そのドライバを用意
する必要があります。Debian 2.2 には その kernel 側のドライバが用意され
ていません。

Debian README for xserver-svga package

Full support of the i810 chipset by the XFree86 SVGA server requires a
specialized Linux kernel module.  Kernel modules can be a delicate
business, so one is not shipped with the xserver-svga package (even if it
were, it probably would not work with most people's kernels because of the
variety of deployed kernels at the time of Debian 2.2's release, let alone
those that will come into usage over the "lifespan" of this version of
Debian).

i810 users are thus advised to consult the X Strike Force, the webpage
dedicated to the Debian XFree86 packages, for more information.
