liloのプロンプトが出たら
Linux acpi=off
又は
Linux noapic
等を入れて起動してみたらどうでしょう
lilo.confに記述する場合は
boot=/dev/hda
map=/boot/map
install=/boot/boot.b
prompt
timeout=50
append="noapic acpi=off apm=on"
といったような感じで
あとwoodyでも2.2系のカーネルもありますが、そちらを使用するのではダメですか？
