debconf の configuration data の翻訳を全部 install するのは
さすがに効率が悪いんじゃないか、という話なんですが、

不要な物は postinst とかで消しちゃえという、ちょっと乱暴な(?)
意見が出ています。(鵜飼さんが文句言ってました ^^;)
以前、翻訳物を別パッケージにして apt とかに handle させるという
提案が岡さん(?)あたりからあったように記憶しているのですが、
メリットやデメリット、方法論や問題点をはっきり覚えていません。
とりあえず Lists-Archives を探せばいいんですが、現実味のある話
として、もう一度検討(?)してから org に提案するのはどうでしょうか。
とりあえず半分くらい書きかけたのですが、いまヘタにやっても
時期尚早ということで片づけられそうな気がしたので…。
