<p>Welcome to this year's 36th issue of DWN, the weekly newsletter for the
Debian community. Alexander Sack <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel/2006/08/msg00286.html";>called</a>
for people to test upcoming security updates to the Mozilla packages for
sarge. Ben Hutchings has managed to <a
href="http://womble2.livejournal.com/57100.html";>upload</a> the final files
for DebConf session videos. Three documentary videos filmed by Biella Coleman
will follow later.</p>

to ask for donations specific for a release advertisement. Joey Schulze <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-publicity/2006/08/msg00092.html";>raised</a>
some questions to find get a clearer picture. The goal is to publish
advertisements in large newspapers and magazines to get a press coverage like
the past Firefox <a href="http://www.spreadfirefox.com/node/4611";>\
campaign</a>.</p>

announced</a> the foundation of the Tcl/Tk team to co-maintain Tcl/Tk and some
of it's add-ons. To accomplish this he has created a <a
href="http://alioth.debian.org/projects/pkg-tcltk/";>project</a> on <a
href="http://alioth.debian.org/";>Alioth</a> and set up a <a
href="http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-tcltk-devel";>mailing
list</a> for discussing Debian's Tcl/Tk infrastructure and policy.</p>

require a new maintainer. This makes a total of 322 orphaned packages. Many
thanks to the previous maintainers who contributed to the Free Software
community. Please see the <a href="$(HOME)/devel/wnpp/">WNPP pages</a> for
the full list, and please add a note to the bug report and retitle it to ITA:
if you plan to take over a package. To find out which orphaned packages are
installed on your system the <code>wnpp-alert</code> program from <code>
devscripts</code> may be helpful.</p>
