清水です。

自分ではないのですが、
woody をインストールされている方に試して頂いたところ、
無事、日本語を含む DocBook の dvi 化ができました。 

しかし、インストールの際にエラーが生じましたので、
以下のパッチをあてられたそうです。
すると、問題がなくなったそうです。
